The Biblio of the Senses

Design an ephemeral library of the 5 senses in Montriond + workshops of reading and immersive writing, at the crossroads of dance and literature. The objective? To make dialogue body and letters, with emotion, and without prerequisites.

2. The objective of your project (explain its why and how it will benefit one or more neighborhood(s))

Multisensory reading and writing (by listening to a Bach air, dancing, tasting a madeleine (from Proust)...) is a space of freedom where emotions intertwine to trigger sensations, clicks and memories that can change our lives. The raison d'être of this project is to put this power in all hands and to develop access to culture for all.te.s. The biblio of the senses is a project for social purpose to discover books differently, to reconnect with the pleasure of reading and writing, to interpret words in a different way than by the verb, to make reading accessible to all those who are far from it and facilitate their access to various texts. 1) A sensory reading corner What if we put books according to the senses? (The Perfume, A Gluttony, The pianist, One last dance...). The creation of an ephemeral library (duration of the project) with the help of all the inhabitants of the neighborhood (assemble the palettes, painting, having the books, slipping bookmarks...) is an opportunity for meeting and sharing. 2) Immersive workshops What if we added sight, smell, touch and taste to the experience of reading and writing? By combining body memory with intellectual memory, readers would enter a whole new dimension!

3. Your project in detail

• Led by two dance and writing enthusiasts, the two-hour workshops will be available for adults and children from 5 years old. External speakers will also be able to intervene (musicien.ne, artist visual.ne, confectioner.se, perfumer.se, biscuitier.e...). At the heart of this proposal: to transmit the love of words and dance to the public in an accessible and inclusive approach, to stimulate imagination and creativity. Already initiated at the library of Montriond as part of the Printemps de la poésie (for adults) and the library of Pully (for children) it would be a question of reproducing and declining these workshops in other libraries of the city of Lausanne, free of charge. The compilation of the texts collected during these workshops will give rise to the printing of a collection, available in each partner library, as well as an audiovisual clip, subtitled.
