Cultural day with APEMS in a Lausanne cultural institution

1. Your project in two lines:

Organize a cultural day at Platform 10, involving artists, educators, teachers and 5H children attending the APEMS of the establishment of Mon-Repos. Around a theme, workshops are organized and supervised by artists. Children register according to their choice, and spend a day outside the walls of the school to explore an artistic field, and meet other children living another neighborhood but being connected by the same school.

2. The objective of your project (explain its why and how it will benefit one or more neighborhood(s))

Through art and culture, children can be awakened to the richness of Lausanne cultural institutions, and create friendships with children living in a neighborhood other than their own. Through their academic career, they will certainly be led to meet again in their life, and will thus be able to forge links on a common artistic experience. This project aims to highlight the entire network working around Lausanne children, who through their diverse strengths, bring to Lausanne children a personal development, rich in encounters and diverse experiences. It will allow children in the different neighborhoods affected by the primary school of Mon-Repos to meet in Lausanne cultural places and thus give access to culture in an equal way.

3. Your project in detail

• In January 2024, a call will be made to all 5H classes of the school buildings of the Mon-Repos school. Teachers will register freely. A cultural mediator and an educator of an APEMS in Montolivet will be the organizers and coordinators of the entire project. Depending on the number of classes inscribed, between three and five artists will be engaged to create and conduct workshops around a theme, in a Lausanne cultural place. Platform 10 is already ready to host classes. The children will be freely enrolled in the workshops, in order to explore an artistic technique for a whole day, with children coming from different colleges. During this day, teachers, educators of APEMS and children will participate actively and will have the opportunity to create links around an event without all academic constraints, and which has for only goals; exploration, creativity, discovery and access to culture in an equal way. The goal is to be able to retrain the experience three years in a row and to share the balance sheet with the Lausanne school and extracurricular department and succeed in enrolling it in all Lausanne schools.
