1. Your project in two lines:
Our project consists in making a large wooden chess game as part of the Pocket Garden of the Rue de la Tour. The goal is to create a friendly and accessible space for all chess lovers, regardless of their age and level. A playful artifact that should be able to promote encounters and contribute to the genius of the place.
2. The objective of your project (explain its why and how it will benefit one or more neighborhood(s))
Failures have this wonderful ability to bring generations together. They are practiced both by the elders who grew up playing chess, and by the youngest, eager to learn and meet the strategic challenge. Thus our project seeks to harness the strength of this game and create a space where generations cross paths and share moments of play, learning and camaraderie.
3. Your project in detail
We will attach great importance to the quality and aesthetics of the game, ensuring that it is credible both from a functional and aesthetic point of view. The chess set will be designed using CNC machining, which will allow us to precisely cut the wooden parts and simply nest them. The use of two wood species will simply distinguish the parts. An existing trunk, judiciously integrated with existing fittings, will allow the parts of the game to be stored when it is not in operation. The management will be ensured by the active community around the pocket garden which already relies on a team of dynamic neighbors who will be keen to watch over the game.
